Good stuff. My only bathroom is the same size as here but when they built it they put tub on the long wall on the left coming in from the door and toilet and sink on facing each other on the far end. End up having a small walkway past the tub to get to the sink/toilet. Alot of wasted space. Got to get with a plumber next spring to see how much it's going to cost to re route the drain lines in the basement.

I’m in a 1971 house and the guest bathroom is 5’ x 4.5’. AND it’s jack and Jill. It sucks. We are planning to stuff around and expand that bathroom. It’s bonkers how they did this back then

We are getting ready to remodel our master bathroom. You can’t open the door all the way cuz the toilet is right behind the door and I can’t stand that. It’s an average toilet but the door is wide. It’s not even a small bathroom. There is a cabinet that hugs the wall that shares the door then you have the toilet, then shower and then the deep tub at the very end, with the vanities to the left. I don’t understand why anyone would put the toilet by the door—no one wants to hear you throw up, piss, etc. lol 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm moving into a house where the bathroom is small and narrow. Sink then toilet on one wall, tub on the opposite wall so when you sit on the toilet your knees hit the tub (yes it's that small). The only thing I can think to do (or the least expensive anyway) is move the toilet against the small wall at the end so it's parallel with the tub.

My wife and I are designing a house to be built. Could you tell me if 8 x 4 is enough space for a 3/4 bath? We were thinking of having the shower on one end and the toilet and sink opposite the shower. Very much like your design at 6:15.

Also consider that some people don't like using a toilet right to a door with passersby right outside. You'd think 3 feet of vanity between you and them wouldn't make a big difference, but human psychology is amusing.

Don’t laugh, but having the toilet adjacent to the bathtub is useful during simultaneous severe illness at both ends. Having had 5 kids, it’s happened several times (a kid puking while sitting on the toilet).
